Agreement Signed with Nickelodeon for Jimmy Neutron
Olive, the Other Reindeer Airs December 17 on Fox
DNA Productions, Inc. has entered into a multi-year agreement with Nickelodeon and screenwriter and director Steve Oedekerk ("Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls") to produce "Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius," Nickelodeon's first property to be simultaneously developed and produced as a feature film, television series and online franchise.
Originally created by John Davis of DNA Productions, "Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius" will be Nickelodeon's first 3D, Computer Graphics Imagery (CGI) animated character, and its first property to be developed as a multi-media franchise. The film, television series and online component - which includes online games for www.nick.com - will be produced by Nickelodeon Movies, Nickelodeon Productions, Oedekerk's O Entertainment, and DNA Productions, Inc. The feature film will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. Nickelodeon will debut Jimmy Neutron as a series of one-minute cartoon shorts on the network prior to theatrical release, then, the show will join Nickelodeon's line-up as a series.
In the meantime, the work of DNA Productions, Inc. can be seen on "Olive, the Other Reindeer" to air Friday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT on Fox Network. Drew Barrymore stars as the voice of "Olive" in this all-new animated holiday special with the assistance of Dan Castellaneta, Peter MacNicol, Joey Pantoliano, Jay Mohr, Ed Asner, Tim Meadows and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe. Based on the popular children's book by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh, Olive is produced by Matt Groening's The Curiosity Company, Drew Barrymore's Flower Films and Fox Television Studios.
Based in Dallas and led by John Davis and Keith Alcorn, DNA Productions, Inc. specializes in the creation and production of 2D and 3D character animation. In addition to Jimmy Neutron, some of the company's notable projects include "Nanna and Lil' Puss Puss" (MTV), "Roseanne's Saturday Night Special" (Fox TV), "The Weird Al Show" (CBS), "steve.oedekerk.com" (ABC), and "Santa vs. the Snowman" (ABC).
