"The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius" wins two Annie Awards
"The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius," a television series that is produced, written and directed by Dallas based DNA Productions, Inc. for Nickelodeon won two awards at the animation industry's 31st annual Annie Awards on February 7th, 2004 in Glendale, Ca. DNA won for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production Produced for Children. In addition, Jeff Garcia (who plays the voice of Sheen Estevez in the TV series) won for Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production. The show was also nominated in the category of Directing in an Animated Television Production (Mike Gasaway for the episode "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Operation Jet Fusion!")
John A. Davis and partner Keith Alcorn serve as producers on the series. Alcorn is also a director on the series. Davis directed and wrote the Oscar nominated film "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius."
In addition to its ongoing work with the Jimmy Neutron TV series, DNA is also in development on a new animated feature film, "The Ant Bully," in conjunction with Playtone and Warner Bros. "The Ant Bully" is an adaptation of the illustrated children's book by John Nickle.
A full service animation company based in Dallas, Texas, DNA Productions, Inc. has produced, directed and written award-winning animation since 1987. In addition to Jimmy Neutron, some of the company's notable projects include animation on the Emmy nominated holiday special, "Olive the Other Reindeer" for the Curiosity Company and Fox. DNA also wrote, directed and produced the 3D animated Christmas special, "Santa versus the Snowman" for O Entertainment, which runs in Imax theaters during the holiday season.
The Annie Awards are presented by The International Animated Film Society to honor outstanding animation in television and film.
